چکیده
Abstract Background Dengue infection is one of the most common viral infections globally, with a broad spectrum clinical manifestations, including hemorrhage and shock. Early diagnostic confirmation dengue essential, but some areas may not have appropriate tools while its symptoms are similar to other diseases. We aim determine significant characteristics laboratory parameters in differentiating from causes febrile. Results This study included 527 patients 268 control patients. Multivariate analysis showed older age (OR = 12.11; 95% 5.42–26.63, p < 0.001), absence diarrhea 0.12; CI 0.06–0.25, leukopenia 13.35; 4.99–38.71, thrombocytopenia 7.12; 2.37–21.38, normal ESR 3.03; 1.54–5.96, 0.001) excellence (AUC value 0.96) good fit model ( 0.8). The cut-off two variables sensitivity 91.4% specificity 87.5%. Conclusions Two or more signs can help clinicians differentiate acute febrile illnesses.

Clinical and laboratory features that distinguish dengue from other febrile illnesses in endemic populations.
OBJECTIVE Clinicians in resource-poor countries need to identify patients with dengue using readily-available data. The objective of this systematic review was to identify clinical and laboratory features that differentiate dengue fever (DF) and/or dengue haemorrhagic fever (DHF) from other febrile illnesses (OFI) in dengue-endemic populations. METHOD Systematic review of the literature from ...
متن کاملUse of simple clinical and laboratory predictors to differentiate influenza from dengue and other febrile illnesses in the emergency room
BACKGROUND Clinical differentiation of influenza from dengue and other febrile illnesses (OFI) is difficult, and available rapid diagnostic tests have limited sensitivity. METHODS We conducted a retrospective study to compare clinical and laboratory findings between (i) influenza and dengue and (ii) influenza and OFI. RESULTS Of 849 enrolled patients, the mean time between illness onset and...
متن کاملClinical and laboratory features that discriminate dengue from other febrile illnesses: a diagnostic accuracy study in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
BACKGROUND Dengue is an acute febrile illness caused by an arbovirus that is endemic in more than 100 countries. Early diagnosis and adequate management are critical to reduce mortality. This study aims to identify clinical and hematological features that could be useful to discriminate dengue from other febrile illnesses (OFI) up to the third day of disease. METHODS We conducted a sectional ...
متن کاملEpidemiological and clinical features of dengue versus other acute febrile illnesses amongst patients seen at government polyclinics.
Classical dengue fever is characterized by the clinical features of fever, headache, severe myalgia and occasionally rash, which can also be caused by a number of other viral and bacterial infections. Five hundred and fifty eight patients who fulfilled the criteria of clinical diagnosis of acute dengue from 4 government outpatient polyclinics were recruited in this prospective field study. Of t...
متن کاملDifferences in GlycA and lipoprotein particle parameters may help distinguish acute kawasaki disease from other febrile illnesses in children
BACKGROUND Glycosylation patterns of serum proteins, such as α1-acid glycoprotein, are modified during an acute phase reaction. The response of acute Kawasaki disease (KD) patients to IVIG treatment has been linked to sialic acid levels on native IgG, suggesting that protein glycosylation patterns vary during the immune response in acute KD. Additionally, the distribution and function of lipopr...
